Movemaker Launches $2 Million Grant Program and New Coworking Space in Hong Kong to Support Aptos Ecosystem

Movemaker, the official community arm of the Aptos Foundation, has just announced a $2 million grant program to accelerate the growth of the Aptos ecosystem in the Chinese-speaking region. Movemaker also launched a new coworking space in Hong Kong, facilitating the connection and collaboration of Web3 developers and projects.

Fueling Innovation with $2 Million Fund

According to the official announcement on March 18, 2025, Movemaker's grant program will provide financial, strategic, and technical support to projects building on the Aptos blockchain. The focus areas of the program include DeFi, AI, payment solutions, stablecoins, and real-world assets. This is the first phase of the program, with a total funding budget of $2 million.

A strong community is critical for Web3 to deliver on its promise of a decentralized network, according to Ash Pampati, Head of Ecosystem at the Aptos Foundation. He stressed that physical environments like Aptos Space in Hong Kong will be a “game changer” for builders in the industry.

Aptos Space – Web3 Community Hub

Movemaker’s new workspace in Hong Kong is designed as a collaboration hub where developers can work and socialize. Movemaker will host regular events for the Web3 community, attracting both local and international talent to the Aptos ecosystem.

Hong Kong has long been seen as a strategic financial hub, with a separate regulatory system from mainland China. Despite the 2021 crypto ban, recent data shows that China still holds around 194,000 BTC, nearly double the US reserves. This shows the region's strong interest in digital assets and blockchain. Movemaker's Key Initiatives in 2025

In 2025, Movemaker plans to launch a series of initiatives to expand the Aptos community and drive innovation in the ecosystem:

- Ambassador Program: Building a network of Web3 champions to support and promote Aptos

- Large-scale Web3 events: Two major conferences bringing together Chinese-speaking and global developers

- Strategic partnerships: Working with government agencies, media, and community leaders

- Community engagement: Hosting regular AMAs and online events to deepen connections with users and developers

Movemaker was founded by Ankaa Labs and BlockBooster, with support from the Aptos Foundation. The organization aims to become the official representative of Aptos in Chinese-speaking markets, driving wider adoption of the Aptos blockchain.
